Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased 1.02% on Thursday compared to the previous day, totaling 860,790 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 40,093 megawatt-hours at 12 p.m. local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 28,965 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 853,154 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking an increase of 0.78% compared to Wednesday.
Electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 26.42% of total generation, while hydroelectricity plants and imported coal plants contributed 16.97% and 14.23%, respectively.
On Thursday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 3,976 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 11,612 megawatt-hours.
