May 1, 2026 9:42 amDaily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by around 0.9 % on Thursday compared to the previous day, totaling 909,959 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Friday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 42,404 megawatt-hours at 9 p.m. local time (1800 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 32,081 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 916,073 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking an increase of about 1.1% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from dam-based hydropower plants accounted for around 31.2% of total generation, while solar and lignite contributed 17.2% and 10.8%, respectively.
On Thursday, the country’s electricity exports totaled 7,962 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 2,007 megawatt-hours.
