March 22, 2023 7:36 amDaily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by 0.55% on Tuesday compared to the previous day, totaling 861,702 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 40,529 megawatt-hours at 12.00 p.m. local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 29,729 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 846,349 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking an increase of 0.53% compared to Monday.
Electricity production from imported coal plants constituted 23.3% of total generation, while natural gas and hydroelectricity power plants contributed 22.1% and 13.4%, respectively.
On Tuesday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 6,187 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 17,001 megawatt-hours.
