June 23, 2023 7:06 amDaily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased 0.40% on Thursday compared to the previous day, totaling 906,740 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 42,911 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 29,642 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 901,173 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking an increase of 0.90% compared to Wednesday.
Electricity production from imported coal plants constituted 20.4% of total generation, while hydroelectric plants and wind plants contributed 18.6% and 13.9%, respectively.
On Thursday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 4,478 megawatt-hours and its imports totaled 10,033 megawatt-hours.
