Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by 0.4% on Wednesday compared to the previous day, totaling 941,309 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 42,898 megawatt-hours at 11 a.m. local time (0800 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 33,003 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 948,941 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking an increase of 0.09% compared to Tuesday.
Electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 26.3% of total generation, while imported coal plants and hydroelectricity plants contributed 17.8% and 16.1%, respectively.
On Wednesday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 12,542 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 4,922 megawatt-hours.
