Türkiye’s daily power consumption up 0.31% on April 28

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased 0.31% on Friday compared to the previous day, totaling 860,467 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 40,732 megawatt-hours at 12 p.m. local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 28,899 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 853,890 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking an increase of 0.23% compared to Thursday.

Electricity production from hydroelectricity plants constituted 16.6% of total generation, while imported coal plants and wind power plants contributed 15.9% and 14.6%, respectively.

On Friday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 5,886 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 12,463 megawatt-hours.
