Türkiye’s daily power consumption up 0.17% on May 5

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased 0.17% on Friday compared to the previous day, totaling 862,267 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 40,730 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 28,804 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0300 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 853,154 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking an increase of 0.06% compared to Thursday.

Electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 20.8% of total generation, while wind plants and hydroelectricity plants contributed 16% and 14.1%, respectively.

On Friday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 3,867 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 12,382 megawatt-hours.
