Türkiye’s daily power consumption up 0.16% on Jan. 11

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by 0.16% on Thursday compared to the previous day, totaling 977,817 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 47,102 megawatt-hours at 6 p.m. local time (1500 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.

The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 32,268 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 980,605 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking an increase of 0.05% compared to Wednesday.

Electricity production from hydroelectricity plants constituted 23.4% of total generation, while imported coal plants and natural gas plants contributed 22.2% and 19.9%, respectively.

On Thursday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 6,424 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 3,660 megawatt-hours.
