Türkiye’s daily power consumption up 0.11%

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by 0.11% on Thursday compared to the previous day, totaling 892,234 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday.

TEIAS data showed that hourly power consumption peaked at 42,436 megawatt-hours at 12 a.m. local time (0900 GMT) and the country’s electricity consumption fell to 29,837 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 878,849 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking a rise of 0.12% compared to Wednesday.

Natural gas plants contributed 28.7% of total generation, while imported coal and lignite power plants supplied 27.5% and 13.2%, respectively.

On Thursday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 6,328 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 19,713 megawatt-hours.
