Türkiye’s daily power consumption increases 1.2% on May 10

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased 1.2% on Wednesday compared to the previous day, totaling 887,294 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 41,291 megawatt-hours at 12 p.m. local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 29,422 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 882,911 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking an increase of 1.7% compared to Tuesday.

Electricity production from natural gas constituted 18.90% of total generation, while imported coal and hydropower plants contributed 16.19% and 14.25%, respectively.

On Wednesday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 5,163 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 9,546 megawatt-hours.
