Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by 9.9% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 861,720 megawatt-hours, according to official figures from the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 41,601 megawatt-hours at 7 p.m. local time (1600 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.
The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 30,466 megawatt-hours at 6 a.m. local time (0300 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 879,901 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a fall of 9.2% compared to Saturday.
Electricity production from natural gas constituted 28.4% of total generation, while imported coal and lignite plants contributed 25.6% and 12.3%, respectively.
On Sunday the country’s electricity exports amounted to 19,462 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 1,372 megawatt-hours.
