Türkiye’s daily power consumption down 9.85% on Nov. 19

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by 9.85% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 762,648 megawatt-hours, according to official figures from the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 36,676 megawatt-hours at 7 p.m. local time (1600 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.

The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 26,909 megawatt-hours at 8 a.m. local time (0500 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 748,811 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a fall of 11.4% compared to Saturday.

Electricity production from imported coal plants constituted 25.2% of total generation, while wind and lignite plants contributed 16.7% and 14.4%, respectively.

On Sunday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 3,120 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 16,957 megawatt-hours.
