August 21, 2023 8:35 amThe daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by 9.6% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 957,145 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 44,494 megawatt-hours at 9 p.m. local time (1800 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.
The country’s electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 33,890 megawatt-hours at 8 a.m. local time (0500 GMT).
Electricity production reached 943,494 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a decrease of 9.7% compared to Saturday.
Electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 22% of total generation, while imported coal plants and wind plants contributed 20.9% and 15.6%, respectively.
On Sunday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 4,733 megawatt-hours, and its imports totaled 18,384 megawatt-hours.
