Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by 9.2% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 908,140 million megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 41,550 megawatt-hours at 09.00 p.m. local time (1800 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 32,222 megawatt-hours at 07.00 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 897,796 million megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a decrease of 9.2% compared to Saturday.
Electricity production from natural gas power plants constituted 28.3% of total generation, while imported coal plants and lignite plants contributed 22.6% and 13.5%, respectively.
On Sunday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 6,122 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 16,464 megawatt-hours.
