Türkiye’s daily power consumption down 8.25% on June 18

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased 8.25% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 730,737 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 33,894 megawatt-hours at 10 p.m. local time (1900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 25,071 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 727,299 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a decrease of 8.7% compared to Saturday.

Electricity production from hydroelectric plants constituted 20.8% of total generation, while imported coal and lignite plants contributed 20.4% and 16.3%, respectively.

On Sunday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 4,805 megawatt-hours and its imports totaled 8,242 megawatt-hours.
