Türkiye’s daily power consumption down 7.9% on Oct. 29

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased 7,93% on Saturday compared to the previous day, totaling 716,327 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Sunday.

TEIAS data showed that hourly power consumption peaked at 33,640 megawatt-hours at 19 p.m. local time (1600 GMT) and the country’s electricity consumption fell to 25,618 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 706,211 megawatt-hours on Saturday, marking an decrease of 9.2% compared to Friday.

Imported coal plants contributed 24% of total generation, while wind energy and lignite power plants contributed 18.2% and 17.7%, respectively.

On Saturday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 13,038 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 23,241 megawatt-hours.
