Türkiye’s daily power consumption down 7.55% on Mar.1

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased 7.55% on Saturday compared to the previous day, totaling 924,228 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Sunday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 42,644 megawatt-hours at 9 p.m. local time (1800 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 33,592 megawatt-hours at 8 a.m. local time (0500 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 940,288 megawatt-hours on Saturday marking a fall of 7.24% compared to Sunday.

Electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 28.5% of total generation, while imported coal and hydroelectricity plants contributed 24.7% and 10.7%, respectively.

On Saturday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 16,379 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 131 megawatt-hours.
