Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased 7.2% on Friday compared to the previous day, totaling 816,613 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 37,768 megawatt-hours at 12 p.m. local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 27,611 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0300 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 810,409 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a decrease of 7.1% compared to Thursday.
Electricity production from hydroelectricity plants constituted 18.3% of total generation, while natural gas and imported coal contributed 17.6% and 15.6%, respectively.
On Friday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 3,950 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 10,131 megawatt-hours.
