Türkiye’s daily power consumption down 6.6% on June 26

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased 6.6% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 863,585 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 37,335 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 26,544 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 802,425 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking a decrease of 6.6% compared to Sunday.

Electricity production from imported coal plants constituted 21.9% of total generation, while hydroelectric plants and lignite plants contributed 17.7% and 14,9%, respectively.

On Monday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 5,166 megawatt-hours and its imports totaled 8,880 megawatt-hours.
