Türkiye’s daily power consumption down 6.6% on April 1

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by 6.6% on Saturday compared to the previous day, totaling 816,902 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Sunday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 36,884 megawatt-hours at 9 p.m. local time (1800 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 29,166 megawatt-hours at 8 a.m. local time (0500 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 804,839 megawatt-hours on Saturday, marking a decrease of 6.3% compared to Friday.

Electricity production from wind power plants constituted 21.5% of total generation, while imported coal and hydroelectricity power plants contributed 16.9% and 12.4%, respectively.

On Saturday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 3,397 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 15,329 megawatt-hours.
