Türkiye’s daily power consumption down 5.91% on Dec

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased 5.91% on Saturday compared to the previous day, totaling 876,958 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Sunday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 42,823 megawatt-hours at 12 p.m. local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 30,174 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 857,778 megawatt-hours on Saturday, marking a decrease of 5.78% compared to Friday.

Electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 30.9% of total generation, while imported coal and lignite plants contributed 27.2% and 16.1%, respectively.

On Saturday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 10,869 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 30,049 megawatt-hours.
