June 17, 2023 2:30 pmDaily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased 5.7% on Friday compared to the previous day, totaling 825,464 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 40,395 megawatt-hours at 12 p.m. local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 28,956 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 823,363 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a decrease of 5.7% compared to Thursday.
Electricity production from hydroelectric plants constituted 21.5% of total generation, while imported coal and lignite plants contributed 18.8% and 13.3%, respectively.
On Friday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 8,390 megawatt-hours and its imports totaled 10,491 megawatt-hours.
