Türkiye’s daily power consumption down 5.4% on April 25

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 5.4% on Saturday compared to the previous day, totaling 856,376 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation released on Sunday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 40,244 megawatt-hours at 9 p.m. local time (1800 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 31,808 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 858,544 megawatt-hours on Saturday, marking a fall of about 5.5% compared to the previous day.

Electricity production from dam-based hydropower plants accounted for around 32.4% of total generation, while solar and lignite plants contributed 17.3% and 11.8%, respectively.

On Saturday, the country’s electricity exports totaled 6,387 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 4,397 megawatt-hours.
