Türkiye’s daily power consumption down 4.5% on April 8

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased 4.5% on Saturday compared to the previous day, totaling 829,582 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Sunday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 37,496 megawatt-hours at 12 p.m. local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 29,137 megawatt-hours at 8 a.m. local time (0500 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 817,016 megawatt-hours on Saturday, marking a decrease of 4.7% compared to Friday.

Electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 23.6% of total generation, while imported coal and hydroelectricity plants contributed 16.7% and 14,8%, respectively.

On Saturday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 5,562 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 18,128 megawatt-hours.
