Türkiye’s daily power consumption down 4.15% on Dec. 10

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by 4.15% on Saturday compared to the previous day, totaling 842,739 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Sunday.

TEIAS data showed that hourly power consumption peaked at 39,805 megawatt-hours at 12 p.m. local time (0900 GMT) and the country’s electricity consumption fell to 29,183 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 833,841 megawatt-hours on Saturday, marking an increase of 2.10% compared to Friday.

Imported coal plants contributed 27.8% of total generation, while wind energy and lignite power plants supplied 21.1% and 15.8%, respectively.

On Saturday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 8,909 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 17,751 megawatt-hours.
