May 21, 2023 6:45 amDaily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased 3.1% on Saturday compared to the previous day, totaling 791,309 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Sunday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 36,707 megawatt-hours at 12 p.m. local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 26,558 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0300 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 777,002 megawatt-hours on Saturday, marking a decrease of 4.12% compared to Friday.
Electricity production from hydroelectricity plants constituted 17.4% of total generation, while imported coal and run off hydroelectricity plants contributed 15.8% and 13%, respectively.
On Saturday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 2,005 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 16,311 megawatt-hours.
