Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by 2% on Tuesday compared to the previous day, totaling 937,375 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 43,382 megawatt-hours at 9 p.m. local time (1800 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 32,715 megawatt-hours at 8 a.m. local time (0500 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 948,092 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking a decrease of 2.2% compared to Monday.
Electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 20.8% of total generation, while imported coal plants and hydroelectricity plants contributed 18.3% and 13.9%, respectively.
On Tuesday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 10,408 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 1,055 megawatt-hours.
