Türkiye’s daily power consumption down 2.9% on Nov. 29

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by 2.9% on Friday compared to the previous day, totaling 990,578 megawatt-hours, according to official figures from the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 47,365 megawatt-hours at 11 a.m. local time (0800 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.

The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 32,645 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 1,005,436 megawatt-hours on Firday marking a fall of 2.9% compared to Thursday.

Electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 33.2% of total generation, while imported coal and hydropower plants contributed 21.1% and 14.7%, respectively.

On Friday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 15,832 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 984 megawatt-hours.
