Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased 13.5% on Wednesday compared to the previous day, totaling 798,846 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 39,853 megawatt-hours at 7 p.m. local time (1600 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 27,723 megawatt-hours at 6 a.m. local time (0300 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 811,989 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking a decline of 13.6% compared to Tuesday.
Electricity production from imported coal constituted 26.9% of total generation, while natural gas plants and hydropower plants contributed 20.3% and 12.9%, respectively.
On Wednesday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 15,907 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 2,764 megawatt-hours.
