Türkiye’s daily power consumption down 10.7% on April 9

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased 10.7% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 740,291 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 34,682 megawatt-hours at 9 p.m. local time (1800 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 25,078 megawatt-hours at 8 a.m. local time (0500 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 725,478 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a decrease of 11.2% compared to Saturday.

Electricity production from imported coal plants constituted 16% of total generation, while hydroelectricity and lignite plants contributed 15.8% and 13.7%, respectively.

On Sunday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 4,139 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 18,954 megawatt-hours.
