Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased 1.97% on Wednesday compared to the previous day, totaling 952,339 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 43,563 megawatt-hours at 9 p.m. local time (1800 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.
The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 32,670 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 926,625 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking a decrease of 2.95% compared to Tuesday.
Electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 21.6% of total generation, while hydroelectricity and imported coal plants contributed 15.2% and 14.4%, respectively.
On Wednesday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 13,022 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 6,154 megawatt-hours.
