Türkiye’s daily power consumption down 1.8% on April 26

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by 1.86% on Friday compared to the previous day, totaling 900,449 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 42,002 megawatt-hours at 12 p.m. local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.

The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 30,371 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 897,327 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking an decrease of 2.14% compared to Thursday.

Electricity production from hydroelectricity plants constituted 22% of total generation, while natural gas and imported coal plants contributed 20% and 15%, respectively.

On Friday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 7,831 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 4,709 megawatt-hours.
