January 27, 2023 6:07 amDaily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by 1.16% on Thursday compared to the previous day, totaling 923,318 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 44,195 megawatt-hours at 12 p.m. local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 31,164 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 904,075 megawatt-hours on Thursday marking a decrease of 1.49% compared to Wednesday.
Electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 30.2% of total generation, while imported coal and lignite plants contributed 24.3% and 13.6% respectively.
On Thursday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 7,807 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 27,050 megawatt-hours.
