December 3, 2022 1:56 pmDaily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased 1.1% on Friday compared to the previous day, totaling 870,750 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.
TEIAS data showed that hourly power consumption peaked at 41,814 megawatt-hours at 12 p.m. local time (0900 GMT) and the country’s electricity consumption fell to 29,339 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 856,943 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a fall of 1% compared to Thursday.
Imported coal plants contributed 27.6% of total generation, while natural gas and lignite power plants supplied 26.9% and 14.5%, respectively.
On Friday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 7,344 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 21,153 megawatt-hours.
