Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by 0.9% on Friday, compared to the previous day, totaling 1,010,470 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 48,782 megawatt-hours at 11 a.m. local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 33,523 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,023,328 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a decrease of 1% compared to Thursday.
Electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 27.3% of total generation, while imported coal plants and hydroelectricity plants contributed 23.2% and 11.7%, respectively.
On Friday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 13,330 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 329 megawatt-hours.
