Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased 0.75% on Thursday compared to the previous day, totaling 880,275 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 41,492 megawatt-hours at 12 p.m. local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 29,302 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0300 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 872,025 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking a decrease of 0.65% compared to Wednesday.
Electricity production from natural gas constituted 26.7% of total generation, while hydroelectricity plants and imported coal contributed 14.9% and 14.6%, respectively.
On Thursday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 3,448 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 11,698 megawatt-hours.
