Türkiye’s daily power consumption down 0.7% on Feb. 10

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by 0.7% on Friday compared to the previous day, totaling 895,791 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 44,498 megawatt-hours at 12 p.m. local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 29,340 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 882,647 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a decrease of 0.65% compared to Thursday.

Electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 29.8% of total generation, while imported coal plants and lignite plants contributed 22.6% and 12.8%, respectively.

On Friday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 6,447 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 19,591 megawatt-hours.
