Türkiye’s daily power consumption down 0.55% on June 23

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased 0.55% on Friday compared to the previous day, totaling 901,684 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 42,605 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 29,593 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 901,173 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a decrease of 0.40% compared to Thursday.

Electricity production from imported coal plants constituted 21.5% of total generation, while hydroelectric plants and lignite plants contributed 17.5% and 13.2%, respectively.

On Friday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 5,015 megawatt-hours and its imports totaled 9,168 megawatt-hours.
