Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased 0.51% on Thursday compared to the previous day, totaling 915,669 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 43,673 megawatt-hours at 11 a.m. local time (0800 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 30,498 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 890,213 megawatt-hours on Thursday marking a decrease of 0.57% compared to Wednesday.
Electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 33.4% of total generation, while imported coal power plants and lignite plants contributed 24.6% and 14.5%, respectively.
On Thursday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 9,818 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 35,274 megawatt-hours.
