Türkiye’s daily power consumption down 0.5% on Friday, August 18

The daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by 0.5% on Friday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,123,338 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.

Hourly power consumption peaked 53,492 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.

The country’s electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 37,787 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).

Electricity production reached 1,113,135 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a decrease of 0.30% compared to Thursday.

Electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 29.7% of total generation, while imported coal plants and hydroelectric plants contributed 21% and 14%, respectively.

On Friday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 5,297 megawatt-hours, and its imports totaled 15,500 megawatt-hours.
