Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased 0.36% on Friday compared to the previous day, totaling 833,782 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.
TEIAS data showed that hourly power consumption peaked at 38,942 megawatt-hours at 11 a.m. local time (0800 GMT) and the country’s electricity consumption fell to 28,556 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 807,709 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a decrease of 0.94% compared to Thursday.
Imported coal plants contributed 29.4% of total generation, while natural gas plants and lignite power plants contributed 26% and 13.3%, respectively.
On Friday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 4,530 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 30,791 megawatt-hours.
