Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased 0.16% on Wednesday compared to the previous day, totaling 830,954 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday.
TEIAS data showed that hourly power consumption peaked at 38,865 megawatt-hours at 7 p.m. local time (1600 GMT) and the country’s electricity consumption fell to 28,364 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 807,864 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking a decrease of 0.25% compared to Tuesday.
Imported coal plants contributed 29.4% of total generation, while natural gas and lignite power plants contributed 25.7% and 13.8%, respectively.
On Wednesday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 6,914 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 30,005 megawatt-hours.
