Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased 0.04% on Friday compared to the previous day, totaling 855,161 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 40,499 megawatt-hours at 12 p.m. local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 28,447 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 842,060 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a decrease of 1.2% compared to Thursday.
Electricity production from imported coal plants constituted 21.7% of total generation, while hydroelectricity and natural gas plants contributed 17.4% and 15.2%, respectively.
On Friday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 3,331 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 16,432 megawatt-hours.
