Türkiye’s crude steel production rose 0.7% in October compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 3 million tons, the Turkish Steel Producers Association said on Friday.
This January-October, crude steel production jumped 12.4%, reaching 30.9 million tons, the association said.
Steel product exports fell 8.5% in quantity this October, reaching 989,900 tons, and 6.2% in terms of value, to $728.8 million.
Exports soared 30.7% in terms of quantity to 11.2 million tons and 18.7% in terms of value to $8.2 billion this January-October compared to the same period of 2023.
Imports jumped 39.8% in terms of quantity to 1.7 million tons and 16.8% in terms of value to $1.2 billion in October compared to the same month of the previous year.
This January-October, imports fell 7.2% in terms of quantity to 13.7 million tons and 15.6% in terms of value to $10.7 billion compared to the same period of the previous year.
The export-import coverage ratio climbed from 54% last January-October to 76% in the same period of this year.
