Türkiye’s Borsa Istanbul closes Monday 3.3% higher

ISTANBUL

The Turkish benchmark stock index ended at 8,304.83 points on Monday, up by 3.3%, or 265.65 points, from last week’s close.

The lowest value of Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index during the day was 8,096.95, with the highest at 8,311.16.

The market value of the BIST 100 was around 7 trillion Turkish liras ($258.9 billion) by market close, while the daily trading volume was 157.5 billion Turkish liras ($5.78 billion).

Some 92 stocks gained value, while eight declined.

The price of an ounce of gold was $1,936.55, while Brent crude oil sold for $91.4 per barrel as of 6.10 p.m. local time (1510GMT).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 27.2150, the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 28.8075, and the British pound traded at 33.2140 Turkish liras.
