Türkiye’s BIST 100 index rises 2.61% on Monday’s close

ISTANBUL

The Turkish benchmark stock index closed Monday at 9,911.07 points, increasing by 2.61% from the previous close.

The BIST 100 index, starting the week at 9,748.03, gained 252.36 points from the close on Friday.

The lowest point for the index during the day was 9,748.03, while the daily high was 10,029.83.

During the day, 26 indexes lost value while 72 closed the day with gains.

The total transaction volume reached 145.8 billion Turkish liras ($4 billion), while the overall value of the index was 8.73 trillion liras ($240 billion).

The USD/TRY exchange rate was 36.4315 as of 6.40 p.m. local time (1540GMT), the EUR/TRY rate stood at 38.2590, and the GBP/TRY traded at 46.2530.

The price of gold was $2,886.10 per ounce, while the barrel price of Brent oil was $74.34.
