Türkiye’s BIST 100 index opens Friday with another record high

ISTANBUL

Türkiye’s benchmark stock index opened the last trading day of the week at an all-time high of 12,924.20 points, up 0.57%, or 72.70 points, from the previous close.

On Thursday, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 rose 0.97% to close at 12,851.49 points, with a daily transaction volume of 219.8 billion liras ($5.07 billion).

As of 09.50 am local time (0650GMT), exchange rates stood at 43.3670 liras to the US dollar, 50.9625 to the euro, and 58.5560 to the British pound.

The price of an ounce of gold was $4,952.15, while Brent crude oil was trading at $64 per barrel.
