Türkiye’s BIST 100 index opens Friday on high note

ISTANBUL

Türkiye’s benchmark stock index opened the last trading day of the week at 11,269.51 points, up 0.32%, or 35.85 points, from the previous close.

On Thursday, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 gained 0.36% to close at 11,233.66 points, with a daily transaction volume of 134 billion liras ($3.15 billion).

As of 9.50 am local time (0650GMT), exchange rates stood at 42.6855 liras to the US dollar, 50.1295 to the euro, and 57.2040 to the British pound.

The price of an ounce of gold was $4,282.60, while Brent crude oil was trading at $61.45 per barrel.
