Türkiye’s benchmark stock index closed Monday at 5,732.86 points, extending gains from last week.
Starting the week at 5,644.33 points, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index surged 2.69%, or 150.11 points from the previous close.
The total market value of BIST 100 was around 4.76 trillion Turkish liras ($194.2 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 75 billion Turkish liras ($2.90 billion).
The index’s lowest value on Monday was 5,632.06, while its daily high was 5,749.66.
The price of an ounce of gold was $1,936.05, while Brent crude oil sold for around $74.14 per barrel as of 6.17 p.m. local time (1517GMT).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 25.7014, the euro/lira exchange rate was 28.0386, and the British pound traded at 32.6904 liras.
