Türkiye’s BIST 100 index ends Monday down

ISTANBUL

Türkiye’s benchmark stock index ended Monday at 13,620.95 points, down 1.57%.

After starting the week at 13,598.39 points, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index lost 217.34 points from Friday’s close.

The lowest value of the index was 13,393.80, while the daily high was 13,873.91.

The market value of BIST 100 was around 13.49 trillion Turkish liras ($311.19 billion), with a trading volume of 236.8 billion liras ($5.44 billion).

Some 25 stocks on the index rose and 72 dropped, compared to the previous close.

Gold was $4,710.55 per ounce, while Brent crude oil sold for $66.30 per barrel as of 6.20 pm local time (1520GMT).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 43.4840, the euro/Turkish lira exchange rate 51.3660, and the British pound traded for 59.3565 liras.
